WebJun 26, 2024 · The HT-20 came stock with original branded Sovtek 12AX7WB in the preamp - no TADs. The JJs were clearly better. I've got a new HT-5R MKII now (aside some other amps), which only has one single 12AX7 in the preamp (stock is a Ruby 12AX7WBC, which is a Chinese copy of the Sovtek 12AX7WB/WC tubes) - I guess it works on both channels.
