WebJul 9, 2010 · Near the end of my ride, I stopped at an intersection to make a left turn. I revved the engine while still stationary in anticipation of the light turning green -- I didn't want to hold up traffic, and the 50cc engine takes a while to get going. I pushed off from standstill, the scooter started moving fine, but soon thereafter started lagging. WebJun 5, 2012 · Also make sure belt is not too tight. There should be some tension but no tension is too tight. Loosen un and allow for a 1/2" of tension. Pull on belt. If it raises up more than1/2", too loose. If not 1/2" to tight. Have dealer who sold you belt install. That way its covered under some warranty for installation if problem happens again.
