WebA circular saw will give you a much much more accurate "straight" cut, because the circular saw blades are much much more stiff. If you put two cut edges together that were cut with a circular saw, there will be much less and smaller gaps than with a jig saw. A circular saw will also be MUCH faster with long cuts. WebStep 1: Cutting the Jig Base The base of your jig can be any size you feel is necessary for your space. I made my jig 25 x 32 inches; 32 inches will be the width of the base.
