The model A-1 was an 1800 pound max weight airplane, but up to 1980 on floats. The model A-1A was, I believe, a 1980 GW airplane.

I’ve flown the plane about 20 hrs. The unknown noise is at the point of the engine firing and starting. At that exact instant it make a thump or bump sound. WebFeb 24, 2024 · There is a thin lip welded to the end of the tubes that the bungees go over. This lip keeps the bungees from sliding off the tubes. The tool goes over this lip and hangs on the tube. The tool kept bending the lip over. We had to take the tool to a machine shop and have it welded / modified to keep this from happening.

Weight is a killer, but HP does make up for some of it. Hard to tell if the added HP offsets the added weight. One can take a few lbs off with EarthX battery pretty easily.
